This residential complex stands on a compact plot of land on the edge of Esslingen city centre. Its total of 17 modular apartments were all built in accordance with the construction principles of the ‘Aktivhaus’ concept. Standing at a height of three-storeys, the timber building provides housing for the staff of Esslingen Hospital. The design for the project focussed on maximising prefabrication, minimising assembly times and making the structures easy to convert at a later date.
